SBIR/STTR 201: National Aeronautics and Space Administration

During this 90-minute session, we will cover the key aspects of a competitive application from the key sections of the application, the budget, the technical team, the market opportunity, letters of support and much more.  This is a hands-on session to share how to apply for funding.

MNSBIR, Inc.’s mission is to deliver outreach, education, and confidential coaching and assistance to enable startups and small businesses to secure funding from America’s Seed Fund (SBIR/STTR) to convert research into products and services for domestic and international market opportunities.

The NASA SBIR/STTR program funds the research, development, and demonstration of innovative technologies that fulfill NASA needs as described in the annual solicitations and have significant potential for successful commercialization.  The NASA SBIR/STTR Program consists of three phases.  Competing and securing funding in Phase I is required to access funding in future years.

Startups and small businesses with fewer than 500 employees are encouraged to apply for funding.  Engagement with non-profit research institution (RI) such as a university or a research laboratory is highly encouraged to enhance the project and the team’s capabilities. Your journey starts with a Phase I, but the ultimate goal is to reach Phase III where you get infused into a NASA mission and/or commercialize.
