APFIT is back with its FY26 solicitation cycle, offering a unique, high-impact pathway to Department of Defense procurement for production-ready technologies.
Selected projects may receive approximately $10 million to $50 million in procurement funding and are evaluated through a competitive, merit-based DoD process led by OUSW(R&E), the Joint Staff, and senior acquisition leadership, with final selections expected in June 2026.
Prior SBIR/STTR awards are not required; however, a strong relationship with a government sponsor is essential. Competition is intense, as each participating organization is limited in the number of nominations it may advance.
Early engagement is critical for organizations seeking to pursue this opportunity. We anticipate submitting organizations starting their call cycles after the holidays.
Unlike traditional funding programs, industry does not submit proposals directly; instead, a government sponsor—such as a Service, Combatant Command, or DoD Agency—nominates capabilities on behalf of the company.
