Educational Sessions

Our educational sessions are meant to help you learn about the SBIR/STTR Programs, and then determine if your business and project are a fit with the programs.  The educational programs are just the first step of the journey. These educational programs are free and virtual.

Step 1: SBIR/STTR 100: Technology Readiness Tool

Pursuing SBIR/STTR funding is a strategic business decision that requires an assessment of the firm’s research resources and capabilities, research partnerships, academic and/or industry, coupled with its product development and commercialization plan. The Tool is intended to help you determine your eligibility and readiness to apply for funding.

Step 2: SBIR/STTR 101: An Overview of America’s Seed Fund (Click here to register)

When: 2nd Monday of each month
Length: 90-minutes
Purpose: The objective of this session is to share vital information to help you determine if the Programs are right for your startup or small business, and your early-stage product commercialization plan. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding are taxpayer investments that are used to seed novel technological innovations in small businesses and startups. SBIR/STTR provide non-dilutive funding to help research, develop and commercialize innovative technologies for future markets. Attending an SBIR/STTR 101 session can give you an overview of the programs, eligibility criteria, application process, and other essential information. These sessions are informative and can help you understand how to leverage America’s Seed Fund for your technology development.
