He focuses his trial (jury\, bench\, and International Trade Commission)\, appellate (Federal Circuit)\, and alternative dispute resolution practice on patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation matters\, and disputes involving and related to technology transfer and patent license agreements. His technology transfer and licensing practice includes structuring and negotiating both licensing-in and licensing-out transactions. \nLevine is active in bar associations\, industry organizations\, and his community. He currently is a member of the Board of Licensing Executives Society (LES) International. He is a past president of LES (USA and Canada)\, a past chair of the By-Laws Committee of the U.S. Tennis Association’s Midwest Section\, a past member of the American Heart Association\, Chicago Board\, and a past chair of the President’s Council at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. \nLevine is an author and frequent speaker on intellectual property (IP) issues. He is Co-Editor of International Licensing and Technology Transfer: Practice and the Law. His “Top 10 Court Decisions of the Year” workshop is presented at the annual meetings of numerous IP organizations\, including LES\, AUTM\, FLC\, and the LOT Network. \nLevine holds a BS in Engineering and a BS in Economics\, both degrees from the University of Michigan\, and a JD from the University of Chicago. He is on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) List of Mediators and Arbitrators\, and he is a member of the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Advisory Committee. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also is a Certified Licensing Professional. \nLevine is an avid runner.
